Thank you for letting us know that the Fare Calculator was a welcome addition to the app—and for sharing your much-appreciated feedback!
Special thanks go to Modou and Craig. Thank you both for providing detailed input! Based on that:
Now, instead of a trip, you can first create a Quote in the Fare Calculator. You go through the same steps—pick addresses, choose a route—and then create a Quote to add extras, notes, and adjust the total if needed:
Options under the route list now include a “Navigate to start address” button, opening your navigation app to guide you to the pickup location. Handy!
As you add extras and notes, and adjust the total, the quote is automatically saved. Once finalized, you can:
- Start a taxi trip based on the quote
- Start a taxi trip with simultaneous navigation in your navigation app
- Save the quote as a taxi trip, without the need to drive:
Once a quote is saved, you can return to it via the History button at the top of the Fare Calculator, or via MENU > QUOTES:
In each quote row, tap the top-left name button to rename the quote, or tap the bottom-right Re-use button for more options:
Hopefully, it’s all clear! :)
Notes for the “Open” options:
- Opening a quote in the Fare Calculator pre-fills the start/end addresses, start time (current time is used if the quote’s start time is in the past), and fare. When you open a quote this way, the app will offer to apply the extras and/or notes from the original quote when you create a new one.
Notes for the “Start” options:
- When you start a taxi trip based on a quote, the extras and notes from the quote will be automatically applied to the trip.

Favorite fares now support custom reorder
Favorite fares are shown in the one-tap speed switch fare panel:
You can tap the Fares button at the top of the panel or go to MENU > FAVORITE FARES to manage the one-tap switch list:
To reorder your favorite fares, press and hold a fare row, then drag it to a new position.
We hope you’ll like this streamlined management of favorite fares! If you do, please send a +1 to Bill’s karma. Address search in the Fare Calculator adds “Recent addresses” and improved, more granular search
Every item in this release was inspired by someone.
Big thanks go to Eric for sharing a US address the Fare Calculator couldn’t find. That shame sparked a complete rework of the address search! Now, whatever you can find in Apple Maps should also be found in the Fare Calculator’s address search.
To cover the stains of shame, we also added a Recent list to the address search. It remembers the last 20 addresses you searched for and lets you reuse them with one tap:
