Customizable corner panels.
Introduction
From version 1.9.10 you can customize what readings to show or which buttons to have in the map or speed screen corners (upper right/left). Here is one example to cover two new possible use cases:
Left map corner has “New waypoint” and “Photo waypoint” buttons, so Philip (US) who wanted to have camera button just one tap away, has it there :).
Right map corner shows distance between a waypoint and the current location, so Michel (helicopter pilot from Canada), can navigate to a target waypoint, but always have information handy onto distance to the re-fuel point.
To configure corners, tap on a “⋮” button in top upper left/right corners.
Options you select are separate for the speed and map screens, furthermore options for the map “follow me” and “browse/edit” modes are separate as well. If you want to have same tools/readings there, just pick the same ones. This allows you to have the most appropriate tools/readings per each occasion.
What can be configured?
Subjects & Values
App defines following subjects that you can pick from:
- You
- Waypoint
- Red Arrow (map center). Red arrow subject is available for corners used for the map “browse/edit” mode.
For Yourself, coordinate, speed and altitude can be shown. For waypoint and red-arrow these are just coordinates.
You can pick two different subjects, e.g. You and waypoint or red-arrow and waypoint (for the map edit/browse mode).
At this moment, if you pick two different subjects, the only measurement available is a distance between them.
Toolbars
Toolbar options include pure buttons, but also instruments like stop watch or countdown timers.
Continues…
Options shown are for the map screen, speed screen may have extra options.
Future considerations
More screen corner toolbars and instruments will be added in the future versions. Like:
- Adding options to show coordinates, speed, altitude in different units/formats/datums from the main units.
- Simply adding more tools, readings. E.g. one can totally imagine weather corner panel.
Please feel free to share ideas on what else can be added as options for corners!
